Blueprint Design for Solution
Once a clear set of objectives and requirements have been set out, and the technical architecture team have explored different technologies that can be used within the solution, it is time to set down the design for the real solution that will finally be implemented. This part of the project consists of the design of all of the elements (data servers, proxies, client applications, etc) that comprise the solution and the relations and workflows among them.
This stage of the project requires and understanding of the problem and the internal requirements of the company. More importantly, it requires expertise on each of the technologies involved. Ideally architects, should have experience of working with the products at a grassroots level.
Symlabs has broad experience at this level, frequently being contracted in once the core requirements have been set down, so that companies are able to draw on the expertise and experience of Symlabs engineers in the actual design of the solution. Although it is generally the case, that Symlabs will help to design solutions that include our own products, the Professional Services team has also worked on projects where Symlabs products have not been used.

Symlabs has been in the business of working with LDAP, virtual directory and identity federation technologies for a long time and has not only assisted on hundreds of projects, but has also contributed to the development of some of these technologies. Symlabs worked with an international telecommunications company to design a global anti-virus facility for all MMS messages that could be sent through their network. This project drew heavily on the Professional Services team's prior experience and deep understanding of telecommunications protocols and networking technologies.
A major global investment trading institution required a solution that would handle password management for applications based on SSL, so that the passwords themselves would not be written in plain text anywhere (even in the underlying data) but would be ciphered based on client certificates. Symlabs Professional Services were involved in the design and implementation of the entire project, providing the confidence that comes with years of experience working with identity infrastructure and security projects.
