Introduction to Virtual Directory Server
This course is designed to introduce your staff to Symlabs Virtual Directory Server, how it is configured and managed and how it can be used to solve a variety of common problems within an identity infrastructure. All Symlabs training is customized to ensure that it is specific to your own implementation and may focus on particular details more comprehensively to ensure that your staff are more familiar with how to use the product as it is likely to be deployed on site.
Commonly, our training covers a number of core elements that will help build familiarity with the product and will ensure that your staff are fully capable of performing a variety of functions with a thorough understanding of the implications. These elements include explanations and demonstrations for:
- The DSGUI configurator and how a configuration instance is presented within the GUI

- Listener configuration and the construction of virtual trees
- Automatic stages and the use of built-in plugins to resolve common problems and to build complex solutions
- Introduction to Manual Processing Stages and the DirectoryScript programming language
- Working with Remote Access Server to configure and maintain running instances remotely
- Underlying configuration files and scripts
- Running the dsproxy engine from the command-line
- Troubleshooting
As Symlabs Virtual Directory Server is capable of handling a large variety of protocols and can be used in a wide range of environments, a large element of any training is likely to be developed specifically with your own solution in mind.
