FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
McLean, VA, USA; 31 MAY 2005 -- Symlabs, a leading developer of Federated Identity and Web Services solutions, today announced that it has officially launched its SLIM federated identity and web services product. SLIM stands for Symlabs Liberty Identity Manager, and provides out-of-the-box components needed to implement a Liberty compliant federated identity management and web services solution. SLIM offers sophisticated functionality, significantly reducing costs and deployment time while leveraging standards for maximum interoperability.

Federated Identity allows enterprises and service providers to securely link and exchange identity information across partner, supplier and customer domains. Federation leverages the "open standards" approach which eliminates increased costs, security problems, and user inconvenience caused by outdated application architectures. Federated Identity is becoming necessary to succeed in today's highly competitive marketplace.

The Liberty Alliance standards define how businesses can federate and manage identities. When ID-FF and SAML 2 standards are combined with Liberty Alliances WSF v2.0, our customers have a robust, proven foundation upon which to build identity-based solutions that meet their business requirements.

"We are a Sponsor member of the Liberty Alliance and are fully committed to providing federated identity management and web services solutions to our customers." said Antonio Navarro, CEO of Symlabs. "Liberty Alliance provides a standard framework that significantly improves the internet users experience by eliminating the need for multiple usernames and passwords when accessing various services."

Liberty standards leverage core Web services standards including XML, SOAP, Transport Layer Security (TLS), XML Signature (XMLSIG), and XML Encryption (XMLENC). It also supports the new collaborative MEX efforts of SUN and Microsoft that bridge WS-Federation and Liberty Alliance standards. "Interoperability is the cornerstone of all our efforts in the Federated Identity and Web Services areas." said Felix Gaeghtgens, Founder of Symlabs.

We will continue to react quickly to support our customers requirements for integration and migration paths.
