Sun Directory Server Enterprise Edition

Overview
Sun OpenDSSun Directory Server Enterprise Edition (DSEE), recently acquired by Oracle and now called Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition (ODSEE), is a widely used commercial-grade LDAP v3 Directory Server. DSEE has been shown to be stable securely storing millions of identity entries at once, while being accessed by hundreds of different client applications for authorization and security policy purposes. DSEE is recorded as having the widest reach serving Internet based applications, and boasts a huge number of impressive features, including an Active Directory synchronization tool.

Symlabs performs a fair amount of testing and demonstration work using DSEE as a backend repository, since it is relatively easy to set up and configure. As a result, we have simulated a large number of customer issues using DSEE as an example backend. Many of our existing clients make use of this directory as their preferred LDAP server, so we have excellent experience in resolving many of the integration issues that arise for enterprises where DSEE is a cornerstone within the identity infrastructure.

Symlabs is now part of Quest Software.
