Federated Identity Suite :: Geolocation Server

Add Location Information to Identity Web Services

Symlabs GeoLocation Server is the component of Symlabs Federated Identity Suite that delivers a complete, ready-to-deploy Web Services Provider with support for Liberty Identity Web Service for GeoLocation (ID-SIS-GL). Implementing geolocation service as a component of a federated identity infrastructure enables a variety of powerful capabilities while ensuring security and privacy, plus control over access to information that discloses a user's location.

Many mobile network services are offered by third party applications that enjoy only a weak trust relationship with the network operator. Sharing private subscriber information with these services creates the potential for abuse, but it is often a requirement for the service. In the case of location data, Liberty ID-SIS-GL intercedes by adding identity-based invocations and addressing to the mobile location protocol (MLP). Using Symlabs GeoLocation Server in the Liberty framework, sensitive information identifying a user's location is shared safely because it can be limited to authorized applications and even with varying degrees of granularity, all according to permissions granted by the user.

Symlabs GeoLocation Server includes a web-based Single Sign-On enabled graphical user interface that makes management simple, secure, and flexible.

Support For Key Industry Standards

Symlabs GeoLocation Server includes support for Liberty ID-SIS GeoLocation Service 1.0-14 and OMA Mobile Location Protocol (MLP), the industry standards needed for message exchange between Liberty-enabled applications and mobile networks. It also supports the Liberty ID-Web Services Framework (ID-WSF 2.0) specifications for Discovery Service client, Discovery bootstrap, Authentication Service client, and Interaction Redirect to provide for the secure exchange of identity information.

A powerful capability of Symlabs GeoLocation Server is triple standard support - simultaneous operation of SAML 2.0, Liberty ID-FF 1.2, and WS-Federation 1.0 specifications for SSO, plus Session and Federation Management.
