People Service Server :: Federated Identity Suite

Powerful Professional Or Consumer Social Networks

Symlabs People Service (PS) Server is the component of Symlabs Federated Identity Suite that delivers a full, ready to deploy, Liberty People Service Web Services Provider. It enables secure, cross-principal, online interactions between users and friends in a social context or between users and job roles in a professional context - all with full respect for privacy.

Symlabs People Service (PS) Server allows users to create and manage lists of people they want to interact with, for example giving each permission to access a different set of resources. This can be applied to familiar consumer applications such as photo or calendar sharing, giving users a simple way to consolidate and increase granularity of their control, as well as enhance security. It can also be applied to "act-in-job-role" applications, where the authority of a corporate, government, or professional identity is managed across a group of individuals. Examples of this include legal or financial professionals who have power-of-attorney for a variety of clients, or doctors and nurses who need access to restricted patient records in an emergency.

Simple And Secure Management Capabilities

Access lists can be created locally with Symlabs PS Server, or remotely from any Liberty-compliant PS Client application. People can be organized into groups to easily manage multiple permissions, and lists can re-used with any other service that has a PS Client interface, making list management a simple task. Local administration of Symlabs FIAM PS Server is also secure and simple thanks to the included web-based, Single Sign-On (SSO) enabled graphical user interface (GUI).

Symlabs People Service (PS) Server supports a variety of Liberty ID-Web Services Framework (ID-WSF 2.0) specifications to ensure the secure exchange of identity information and establish an open, standards-based environment.
