Symlabs LDAP Proxy
Symlabs LDAP Proxy leads the industry in flexibility. It adds a layer of abstraction between client applications and back-end data repositories, so you can enhance overall performance, increase failover capabilities, or alter the presentation of data stored in your repositories on-the-fly. With its built-in functionalities and bundled library of plug-ins, Symlabs LDAP Proxy is one of the most powerful components you can add to your existing directory infrastructure - it can be used in an almost infinite number of configurations to resolve problems associated with LDAP back-end data repositories.
Symlabs LDAP Proxy is built on the core engine used in Symlabs Virtual Directory Server, and inherits many of its features, including:
- virtual unified views of data stored within heterogeneous back-end LDAP repositories
- performance enhancing load-balancing algorithms, connection pooling, and search caching facilities
- health checking and failover mechanisms that improve availability
- filtering and ACL mechanisms to implement a consolidated security policy
- a staged architecture that facilitates customized scripts to manipulate requests and responses moving between clients and back-end repositories
"The LDAP Proxy works brilliantly. We saved a lot of effort and money by using this product"
- Juan Cortez, HPCG
Symlabs LDAP Proxy gives you the ability to quickly modify the presentation of data on the fly, so you can easily integrate new applications into your existing identity infrastructure without any requirement to alter directory information - your data remains in its original place and format. The software has been ported to and optimized for all major platforms, allowing it to run in environments where a variety of operating systems may be used. Configurations are platform independent and can be managed remotely either using a Java based GUI, or through a web-based front-end.
Symlabs LDAP Proxy delivers blazing speed, extraordinary data security, and maximum ease-of-use. It is designed to provide a cost effective alternative to a virtual directory which includes the critical subset of that functionality many of our clients have asked for. Symlabs LDAP Proxy incorporates a smaller range of protocols when compared to Symlabs Virtual Directory Server, and does not integrate with relational database back-end servers.
The latest release, version 6.0, integrates more tightly than ever with key technologies such as Microsoft Active Directory that businesses depend on today, and provides new features that make it exceptionally easy to deploy and use. Best of all, it's even faster!
