Custom Solutions

Overview
Unlike many other products on the market, Symlabs Virtual Directory Server and Symlabs LDAP Proxy are not built solely around the 'one size fits all' mentality. Symlabs has recognized that while plugins can be developed to solve many common generic problems that may apply to any business working with a particular protocol, client or backend server; the large majority of businesses usually have specific problems that arise directly from within their own unique infrastructures. This means that while a product that caters to general problems may help to mitigate some of the underlying causes of a problem, the product may not be able to cater to specific requirements.

Symlabs Virtual Directory Server and LDAP Proxy offer two ways in which solutions can be customized to fit a particular problem specific to a client. The first approach is to take advantage of the staged processing model, which allows you to control which plugins to use, in which order, and when. This allows you much greater control over how different functionalities are implemented.

The second approach is to take advantage of the built in DirectoryScript programming language. All Symlabs plugins are created using the underlying DirectoryScript programming environment which allows you to design solutions by directly accessing the content of packets as they move through the proxy engine.
